Home Upgrades to do in the AZ Winter

As the fall arrives and temperatures get cooler, the next few months are the best time of year to make those small, easy, and inexpensive upgrades to your home that will significantly update curb appeal. Below are five updates you that will make a big impact…

1.  Desert-friendly landscaping - traditional fall foliage won’t grow in our desert climate, but that doesn’t mean you can’t create seasonal interest in your yard by incorporating vibrant desert plants and flowers. Replace summer annuals or go with an arrangement of succulents to catch the eye of visitors or passers-by.

2.  Fall-themed decor - add harvest or fall themed decor to your front yard and front door. Adding an autumn wreath to your front door or potted plants with pumpkins in pots on your porch is a great way to give your home a touch of autumn charm.

3.  Refresh your front door - fall is a great time to update that dusty front door with a bright color. The front door is often the focal point of a home’s exterior, so giving it a fresh look can significantly boost curb appeal. For even more impact, consider updating your door handle and dead bolt.

4.  Clean and revitalize the exterior - after the dust storms and summer heat, your home’s exterior can benefit from a thorough cleaning. Use a power washer or hose to clean dirt from your home’s exterior walls, driveway, windows, and screens.

5.  After cleaning your home’s exterior, you may notice that the decorative pop-outs, exterior shutters, fascia boards, or siding have faded or begun to chip from the sun’s intense rays. Touch up any areas where paint has faded to restore your home’s original look and remove any sign of deferred maintenance.
